1. The Newsroom with Sheffield Tribune

Tuesday 28th November, 12:30 til 1:15pm in the Cafe at Union St

Reporters Vicky and Dan host a monthly lunchtime discussion in the cafe at Union St, sharing details of their most recent stories written in the Sheffield Tribune, the city's new leading platform for local journalism; www.sheffieldtribune.co.uk .

Lunch on Tuesday will be served by the award winning Bless One Kitchen, serving delicious afro-carribean fusion, as featured earlier this month on BBC News!

2. Friendly Funding with Key Fund

Wednesday 29th November, 9am til 12 in the One Space (1st floor) at Union St

Funding solutions, information and connection! A relaxed and informal networking and information event for people thinking about / involved in social enterprises or charities:

Hosted by Rachel Veitch-Straw (photo above) who is our local Investment Manager at Key Fund Yorkshire, you can find more info and tickets here:

Would you, or someone you know, like to join our small (but growing!) Barista team? Working alongside Jess, Rorie and myself (Matt) and supporting events organisers at Union St too...

An 'essential criteria' of the role is previous Barista experience, as we're seeking someone who can serve basic latte art, but nothing too crazy as our 'house standard' is a simple heart.

Our Baristas are super important to us, as the first person our members come into contact with when arriving at Union St each morning, so we're looking for someone who enjoys talking with new people, takes pride in working to high standards, and creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

We'd also like to offer additional ad-hoc hours for supporting our event organisers, helping to set-up and assisting with refreshments and lunch catering...

  • Pay: £15/hr, £100 per shift of 6.5 hours

  • Frquency: Initially 6 hours per week, increasing up to 20 hours per week

  • Hours: Baristas start work at 8am and finish at 2:30pm

  • Event Assistant Hours: flexible and ad-hoc

To apply, please pop in with a CV and have a chat with either Jess, Rorie or myself on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 8:30am and 2pm.

Incase it's helpful, the quietest point in the day (when we have the most time for chatting) is between 10:30 and 12.

Looking forward to hearing from you :-)
